How we do it
At JAB shop, we operate on a "smart fashion"
model where we only produce what we know our customers want. When we release new styles we adjust production in real time, using direct feedback and insights from our customers.
This means we don’t produce large quantities of clothes that
may not sell like traditional fashion companies, allowing us to deliver
fashion more quickly, affordably, and with less waste.
What is a Jab?
A JAB or Jab Jab is a traditional Caribbean Carnival character. The name "jab jab" comes from the French patois word "jab," meaning "devil." These characters are known for their fearsome appearance and combative nature. They are often depicted as devils or demons, wearing horned headpieces, While their appearance may be frightening, Jab Jabs are generally harmless and often seen as a symbol of the carnival's vibrant and expressive culture. They are a popular and beloved figure among both locals and visitors alike.

Its origins date back to days of the sugar estates, when freed slaves, who formerly toiled on the sugar estates, daubed themselves with the familiar and readily available molasses as a means of disguising themselves and playing a cheap mas. Today, the Jab Molassie has evolved to include blue devils, red, green, white, yellow and even Jabs covered in mud, and chocolate syrup.
